Koyasan Daisido
This incense and fragrant wood specialty shop is located in Koya Town, Ito County, Wakayama Prefecture. Its white walls and black tiling give it a very grand appearance. It manufactures and sells products used inside the temples of Mt. Koya as well as products for cemetery visits and Buddhist altars at home. You’ll find the famous “reiko” incense as well as sandalwood, Koya mutsugi, and more. There are also incenses and scented oils that assist with healing and getting rid of bad smells, as well as several items that make great souvenirs. The adorable scented bags are a popular purchase.

- お洒落感は、無いですが実直さが出ているお店です。京都の有名お香屋さんのような高価すぎて、普段使い出来ないものではなく、普段使いのお手頃価格のものが多かったです。『杉』・『槙』・『檜』のエッセンスオイルを再購入しました。 そうそう、入り口は自動ドアで外の歩道を歩いていると開いてしまいギクッとした記憶があります。

- 刈茅堂の斜め向かいです”香老舗 高野山大師堂”
- 高野山での造り酒屋ならぬ、造り線香屋さんらしいです。刈茅堂の斜め向かいなのですが、思ったよりも小さい店舗というかテナントみたいな建物なので見逃しやすいと思います。私はお試し品のような『小さいパック』を数種買いました。金剛峯寺でも売っていた杉や高野槙や檜の”エッセンスオイル”はココの商品だったのですね。
