This restaurant located in Taiji Town in Higashimuro County, Wakayama Prefecture only serves whale, a traditional local food. They use meat from whales caught in resource surveys and provide various dishes that were served from after the war until whaling restrictions went into effect. There’s whale cutlet curry made from minke whale and finback whale featuring succulent meat and special curry roux that is sure to stimulate the appetite. You can also enjoy whale sashimi to experience the true whale flavor, as well as “harihari nabe” hot pot (reservations required).

鯨の街太地町には滅多に食べることの出来ない貴重な鯨料理を食べることの出来るお店が数軒あります。このくじら家はランチ営業のみなのでお昼に伺い、竜田揚げ定食とレディースセットを注文しました。刺身は思ったより癖がなくさっぱりして美味しく、揚げ物も柔らかく食べ易かったです。鯨肉を食べたことのない人にもお薦めのお店です。

スーパーのくじらはクセがありますが、こちらで食べたくじらはそんなに強く感じませんでした。このセットは色々な種類のくじら料理を堪能出来て良かったです。少しお値段はお高いです。
