This sightseeing facility located in Shima Town, Shima City, Mie Prefecture allows visitors to experience a moment inside an ama hut, a place where the ama (female divers) would warm up for diving or relax after their dives. You can sit around the hearth and enjoy local seafood while listening to tales of the sea shared by current working divers and former divers. In addition to seafood harvested in the nearby ocean such as Ise-ebi spiny lobster, abalone, and turban shellfish, visitors can also try Tekone Sushi which is a local specialty of the Shima region. Advance reservation is required and applications are accepted for three or more adults.

Wow this is a bit off the beaten track and you probably need a car to get there but wow. You must reserve esp for lunch. Good deal for lunch at 3850 Yen for filling meal with scallops, welk, squid...

We were brought there on a small group tour and had an amazing lunch time with the AMA divers.The seafood was really well done and tasted very fresh! Our set also came with Hijiki rice and miso...
