Yamada Gohei Mochi shop, located in the castle town around Inuyama Castle, is famous for its rich, handmade sauce. They roast the mochi skewers for about three minutes on order, slather it in their special sauce, and hand the skewer over so you can eat while you stroll the streets. Depending on the season you can also get roasted sweet potatoes, shaved ice, soft-serve ice cream and more. It’s located ten minutes’ walk from Meitetsu Inuyama Line Inuyama Station.

犬山城からの帰り道に立ち寄りました。「行列の出来る店」とのことですが、訪れた時に行列はありませんでした。早速餅を購入、店頭でいただきました。味は昔ながらの素朴な味、と言った印象です。特に特徴があるわけではありませんが、素直に美味しいと思いました。時は1月でしたが、風のない良く晴れた暖かい日でした。犬山城下の町並を眺めながらいただきました。

ここの焼立て五平餅をツマミにハイボールがを飲みたい！味噌の焦げた苦みと酸味と癖になる味です。五平餅が小さいので何本でも食べれそう。
