Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History exhibiting documents from prehistoric to the present history of Kanagawa Prefecture is a historical building which was built as the Yokohama Specie Bank Main Office in 1904, and has been designated as a National Important Cultural Property and site today. It has an exhibit on the culture and history of Kanagawa, and holds special exhibitions several times a year. It is one minute walk from Bashamichi Station on the Tokyu Minatomirai Line.

国指定史跡の旧横浜正金銀行本店の内部が、神奈川県立歴史博物館になっています。1Fが特別展示室で、2Fと3Fが常設展示室なっています。入館料は特別展と常設展のセットだと1,100円、常設展のみだと300円でした。ただし色々な割引があって、団体料金の250円で入館できました。見学順路は、古代→中世→近世→近代→現代になっていて、旧石器時代から現代までの神奈川県の移り変わりを知ることができます。想像して...

石造りの重厚な建物です。明治時代の建築ですが、数十年前は江戸時代で丁髷姿人々が闊歩していた漁村にこの様な欧風な建物を建築する．凄い。
