Irori Chaya is a Japanese restaurant, just a two-minute walk from Atami Station in an attractive building with a nostalgic air that looks like a traditional rural house. A hearth is set into each table, so that in the evening, customers can roast various mountain food and seafood on skewers. The restaurant also receives high marks for its dried seafood and freshly caught fish from the waters around Atami. Its most famous dishes are Kinmedai no Nitsuke (simmered alfonsino) and Aji no Mago Chazuke (mackerel sashimi with green tea over rice).
