Daigahara Kinseiken
This is a well-established Japanese sweets shop boasting over 100 years of history, located in a corner of Daigaharajuku on the Koshu-kaido Road. The Japanese sweets use homemade slowly cooked bean paste. The beans, which are cultivated with limited pesticide from restricted farmers, are produced in Tokachi, Hokkaido and are cooked slowly with the water of Hakushu, selected as one of the 100 best waters. The aroma and moderate sweetness is exquisite with a refreshing after taste. Every summer (from the beginning of June until the end of September), on Saturdays and Sundays, excluding holidays, they offer a limited number of simple sweets “mizushingen mochi” using famous Hakushu water which is also used in the red bean paste, set with agar.
