Ontake Ropeway

This ropeway travels 2,330 meters between Kanose and Iimori Kogen Stations with a difference in height above sea level of 580 meters, taking 15 minutes each way. Located at around 2,000 meters above sea level in a mountainous area, the service may be suspended depending on circumstances due to changing weather conditions. In the Kozan Botanical Gardens at the summit, you will find lovely flowers including Potentilla fruticose var. mandshurica, Phyllodoce nipponica, clubmoss mountain heather and Rhododendrum dauricum. There is also an observatory restaurant from which you can look at the superb view while enjoying pasta or sweets created by the chef.

国道19号からはなかなか長い道のりで、ロープウェイの駅は山の中腹にあるので、結構登ります。ロープウェイはなかなかの料金ですが、個室で安心かつ気兼ねなく乗れるし、展望台は20度前後の涼しい気温。避暑にはぴったりです。みちすがらもロープウェイの駅にも飲食店はないので、お昼どきは開田高原かどこかで食べてから登りましょう。山上の駅には喫茶店があります。

7時の営業開始に合わせて到着しましたが既に登山客が大勢いました。コロナ対策としてロープウェイに相乗りはさせなかったので15分くらい待ちました。7合目から御嶽山頂までは高低差が1,000m近くありますので酸欠にならないように注意が必要です。下りの最終は16:30なので健脚な人向けの登山コースですね。
かなり車で登っていきます。

３０００Ⅿを超える御岳山で、さらにスキー場ということでかなり登ります。車でクネクネとなんどもなんども飽きるほどカーブを越えました。でも、そのせいか、景色が素晴らしかったです。
