This municipal art museum is situated on Prefectural Route 484 in Hara Village, Suwa County, Nagano Prefecture. The museum's standing exhibition consists of works by Hara Village-born sculptor Takashi Shimizu, as well as calligraphy by the similarly Hara Village-born calligrapher Kakusen Tsugane, and Jomon period pottery and stone implements excavated from archeological sites in the village. The museum also holds a variety of special exhibitions throughout the year. Walk the walking path around the museum and you can enjoy an outdoor sculpture exhibit and also come in contact with the natural beauty found at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains.

彫刻が多く展示されている美術館です。原村出身の清水多嘉示さんの作品が多くあります。みどりのリズムは別の場所でも見たことがあったので、大元の作品を見ることができて感激でした。建物自体もドーム型で独創的です。森林に囲まれ、落ち着いて楽しむことができる場所でした。

全国で初の村営の美術館です。原村出身の彫刻家・清水多嘉示の作品の常設展示に加えて、八ヶ岳周辺の縄文文化の出土品も展示されています。この美術館の一番良い点は、周りの緑に溶け込んでいる、建築家・村野藤吾の設計による大変ユニークな建物です。連続ドーム型で大変ユニークなデザインです。外から見てもおもしろいのですが、内部に入るととても気持ちの良い空間が広がり、周りの緑も見ながらゆっくり展示を見て回ることがで...
