Genchi Well

This well, located in Matsumoto City, represents the “Matsumoto Jokamachi Spring Group,” which was chosen as one of the “100 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters of the Heisei Period.” It gushes nearly 200 liters of water a minute and has been used as a source of drinking water since the Edo period. Nowadays, many people from both inside and outside the city come to scoop water from this well.
