This is a café terrace located within the long-established Mampei Hotel operating from 1894 in Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku County, Nagano Prefecture. It is famous for being used by John Lennon and his family. The sweets such as traditional apple pie, tarts and French toast are quite popular. The royal milk tea loved by John Lennon is also popular and guests can enjoy an elegant tea time while taking in the refreshing scenery of this retreat from the summer heat. Pets are permitted as long as they are on the wood deck which is open during specific seasons.

THE軽井沢って感じ

平日の2時半ごろにお邪魔しました。30分ぐらい待ってソファ席に案内されました。テラスも良いですが、少し陽が入るので、テラスでなくても軽井沢の緑、風を楽しむことができます。ケーキとアイスティーを注文。見た目も味も間違えないです。時間が止まってほしいと思えるひとときです。

この店は、ジョンレノンが毎日ロイヤルミルクティーを飲んだという伝説の店。アップルパイとロイヤルミルクティーで軽く軽食。家族で楽しんだ。

万平ホテル内にあるあカフェ。子供の頃にホテルに宿泊した事があり懐かしくて寄ってみました。外観も内館も変わってなかった。内を見学し、ホテル自慢のアップルパイをカフェで食べることになりましたが、ちょうどお昼の時間とあって、ランチも兼ねてグリルトサンドも注文しました。アップルパイはシンプルで昔ながらの味ですね。どちらも美味しかったです。優雅な時間を過ごせていい思い出になりました。
