Matsuba Souhonten, located in Shin Umeda Food Arcade near Umeda Station in Osaka, is a well-established specialty kushikatsu (a grilled skewer) restaurant, which opened in 1949. The standing bar-style surrounding a counter is often featured on TV and magazines. It is crowded with neighboring office workers daily and also popular with both families and tourists. Each kushikatsu carefully made by an experienced artisan is a taste of Osaka with a crispy texture. The grilled beef skewer is famous and more than 10 types of kushikatsu including vegetables, meat and seafood can be enjoyed.

土曜日の開店10分前に到着、既に5人待ち。中瓶2本と牛肉・海老・きす・若鶏・青唐・じゃが芋・ウインナーを。休日昼下りの揚げたて串カツでの立ち呑み、大変美味しゅうございました。

新梅田食堂街内にある、老舗串カツ店。店構えも歴史を感じます。店内に入ると、アクリルケースに串カツが並べられいて、その前に通される。最初はシステムが分からず少し混乱します？メニューがあるので、とりあえずそこから注文。後からわかってが、注文が入ると、多めに揚げて、席毎のケースに置いていくシステムみたい。そこから取るのもよし、注文してもよしのシステムらしい。尚、陳列の串カツの温め直しも可能。肝心の串...
