Cohaku Kairashi is a retail showroom for souvenirs of Kyoto located in Kyoto's Higashiyama Ward. Kairashi is Kyoto dialect for cute, and the idea is that a piece of merchandise is so cute that customers find themselves wanting to give it to someone. The glass-walled, retro Western-style building stands out from other buildings, and inside are items that differ from conventional souvenirs of Kyoto in appealing to a more mature sensibility. The merchandise includes Kyoto hard candy, toad mouth purses, and accessories, variety goods and small items that are a cut above the rest, including items designed in collaboration with famous Kyoto stores.

高台寺の帰り道ふと目に飛び込んできた素敵な建物。なんのお店だろうと入ると京都で作られたジュエリーやバッグのお店でした。日本人デザイナーのお洋服やヴィンテージ時計なども扱っていて、東京でも中々こんなに面白い品揃えのお店はないので、とても興味を惹かれました。特にジュエリーが素敵でここにしかない特別なものをお探しな方にはぜひおすすめです。
