Shusuitei
This tearoom is located in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City. Reported to have been built in the late Edo period (1603-1868), two Japanese-style rooms are left, one 10 bamboo tatami mats in size and the other three large. You can gaze out on Kujo Pond and Takakura-bashi Bridge from the second floor. They also currently hold cultural events such as general admission days, tea parties, Noh song performances and historical societies.

- 京都御苑の南側にある九條家の邸宅跡にある建物で、茶室として建てられた別宅です。残念ながらコロナの影響でしょうが、現在は中を見学することができません。目の前にある九條池は拾翠亭からの眺めを第一につくられたとのことのあで、ぜひ一度見てみたいですね。

- 公家最高の家格五摂家の九条家の屋敷跡に有るお茶室です。江戸時代後期の約200年前に建てられた2階建ての数寄屋風書院造りの大きな茶室と言うか本邸の離れのような感じで利用されていたのでしょうか?内部も池に面していて暑い京都の夏も涼しく過ごせたと思われます。
