Kyoto Arashiyama Randon

Other Japanese Food
Kyoto Arashiyama Randon is located on the second floor of Hannari Hokkori Square, which is inside Arashiyama Station on the Keifuku Line (Randen). This donburi (bowl of rice with chicken or other savory toppings) restaurant is a large retro modern space, with decor that blends Japanese and Western styles. It has 120 seats and gives diners a view of what is happening in the area in front of the station. Its specialties include Arashiyama-donburi, made with yuba (tofu skin) and oboro-tofu (tofu curd) in thick broth, and Sagano-donburi, which brings out the umami (savory flavor) of the ingredients. In addition, the restaurant serves seafood oyako-donburi, with generous portions of salmon and salmon roe, as well as maguro-zukushi donburi, loaded with tuna, among other items on a wide-ranging menu of seafood donburi made with fresh seafood sent directly from the Kyoto Central Wholesale Market. A full drink menu, including beer, is also available.
