Yanagawa Tachibana-tei Ohana/Tachibana Gardens
A nationally-designated scenic place of beauty, the Tachibana Garden Shoto-en Garden has been on the grounds of the residence of Yanagawa clan leader Tachibana family since the Edo period. Shoto-en Garden was made in 1910 by 14th Earl Tomoharu Tachibana, and is a pond garden surrounded by black pines. The pond garden features islands large and small, as well as rock islands, to represent the ocean, and is surrounded by roughly 280 black pines, making for a perfect picture of grace. It is located about 10 minutes by car from Yanagawa Station on the Nishitetsu Omuta Line.
