Miike Coal Mine (Manda Pit)

Other Sightseeing Spot
This coal pit supported Japan’s industrial revolution and today is a registered World Heritage Site. The mine’s solemn brick structures, entrance to the underground areas, and machine room which still houses massive machinery are impressive sights. Visitors can also spend a fun time listening to the experiences of men who actually worked in the mine.
