Lake Notori Coral Grass
Coral grass expands across about 38,000 meters of land on the bank of Lake Notori in Abashiri City, Hokkaido. It is the largest coral grass colony in Japan and can only be seen from around mid-September to October. The surface of the lake appears to be dyed a deep red. There is also the Kaje Notori Coral Grass Festival during this time, which draws large crowds.
