This track hosts one of the historic Hokkaido summer events, the Hokkaido Series. Thoroughly built to enjoy races from all vantage points, there is terrace seating from which one can look down on the full track, and turf-side seats where one can physically feel the thunder of the horses go by. At the park one can also enjoy a horse pulled wagon ride and other events to interact with horses. The park is equipped with a nursing room and baby beds, so that a family can enjoy the park even on days when there is no race. During the Saturdays and Sundays when the races are going on, there is a free courtesy bus leaving from the JR Soen Station and the Nijuyonken Station of the Tozai subway line.

市内からタクシーで2000円弱、娘が行くと言うので競馬？？雪で競馬はお休みかと思いましたが場外の競馬を楽しむ人が数百人-数千人いました。行った日は日曜日で開催されている各地の競馬の馬券を買っているようでした。競馬場の正面の大きなスクリーンを見ながら皆さんたのしんでいました。入場料はいりませんでした。

競馬ファンなので毎年夏に札幌競馬が開催されるのを楽しみにしています。競馬場もまだ新しくてきれいで、食べ物を売っているお店もたくさんあり、イベントも毎週開催されて、夏のお祭りのようです。子供もたくさんきて遊んでいます。

リニューアルされて、とってもおしゃれな雰囲気の競馬場に生まれ変わりました。馬券は買わなくても、馬を見たり子供が遊ぶところや食べるところもいっぱいあるので、1日100円で家族みんなで楽しめます。
