Shiretoko World Heritage Conservation Center
The Shiretoko World Heritage Conservation Center has suggestions about the best places to see in the Shiretoko Peninsula (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), along with important information updated in real-time. There are life-size photographs of some of the animals that live in Shiretoko, including the brown bear and Hokkaido Sika Deer, etc., as well as models showing the tracks that the different animals leave. The Center also explains to visitors how to travel in Shiretoko in a responsible and considerate manner. The Center is located adjacent to the Utoro Shiretoko Rest Area.
