Lavender East

Other places famous for flowers
This is one of the largest lavender fields in Japan, and is managed by Farm Tomita. Farm Tomita is a true Hokkaido icon and has a variety of flower fields to see, including Irodori Field, which paints the hills in all the colors of the rainbow. The fields stretch out for four kilometers eastward from the farm center toward the Tokachi mountain range. This area was originally a paddy farm that changed to growing flowers for aroma essence. Most years, the lavender blooms from early through mid-July, and the combination of gentle flowers and stunning Tokachi mountain range is an incredible sight. The park grounds have observation decks, toilets, and a welcome house selling original goods and soft-serve ice cream.
