This long-standing gold leaf specialty shop was established in 1898. Facing Saigawa-odori Avenue and located close to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa and the Kenrokuen garden, the shop sells gold leaf materials and gold leaf crafts and also holds a variety of workshops. The shop’s most popular workshop is its gold leafing activity, which lets you handle real gold leaf just one 10,000th of a millimeter thick. Under the tentative guidance of an instructor, you can make your own gold leaf hand mirror, small bon tray, postcard, or badge, the perfect opportunity to make a memory of your trip to Kanazawa that will last a lifetime. The gold leaf ice cream activity, in which you apply gold leaf to a soft serve ice cream cone, is also popular.

街中あちこちに金箔ソフトクリームはありますが、金箔やさんが出しているだけあってか、近江町市場、駅前よりも少し安い気がします。金箔味は正直分かりませんが、名物なのでとりあえず話のネタに食べてみてもいいかも。
