Takeda Hachimangu Shrine
A shrine that's a 15-minute drive from Nirasaki Interchange or a 20-minute bus ride from Nirasaki Station. It was established in 822 when the mausoleum shrine for the Takeda lord was relocated and merged with the Kyushu Usa-jingu Shrine. It served as the patron deity for the Kai region Takeda family and when Takeda Shingen took over from his farther,Takeda Nobutora, he rebuilt the shrine into its current Takeda Hachimangu state. The Shingen Ko Festival is held from the Friday before April 12th, the date of his death, until the following Sunday and draws large crowds. Another festival held in October features traditional Shinto Kagura music and dancing, mikoshi portable shrines, and numerous stalls.
