Oniwa

Other Sightseeing Spot
Located a one-minute walk from the Oniwa bus stop or a 50-minute drive from the Kawaguchiko Interchange. A picturesque location at the head of the mountain trail close to the bus stop at the 5th Station on the Fuji Subaru Line. Heading up the mountain is Oniwa, while heading down the mountain is Okuniwa. Near the staircase which connects to the walking trail is an entrance to one of Mt. Fuji's parasite volcanoes. Larch can be seen here and there on the bare volcanic gravel giving it the appearance of a spreading Japanese garden. At an altitude of 2400 meters it's also the tree line. From here you can see the summit of Mt. Fuji from up close and the sunset view is spectacular.
