Ryokan Nenrinbo

Kyoto Cuisine
This restaurant is about 30 minutes' drive from Kyoto Station, inside a hotel in the Takagamine area, near to a number of ancient temples like Genko-an or Koetsu-ji. It is surrounded by the beauty of the foothills of the Kitayama mountain range, known as Kitayama Cedars, and offers the fruits of the mountains all year round in various seasonal dishes. In summer they have hamo pike conger, in fall matsutake mushrooms, and in winter they have blowfish, all served in dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. The shop is loved for how its dishes bring out the flavor of their ingredients to their utmost, whether it's hamo shabu-shabu hotpot or sushi, matsutake rice, or boiled blowfish. Their mini-kaiseki Nenju Manpuku Zen and Koetsu dim sum meals, featuring the flavor of the seasons with a Kyoto flair, are also quite popular.
