Bubuya

Local Cuisine
This chazuke (green tea broth over rice) shop is managed by Kyoto pickle specialist Gion Kawakatsu. Located about seven minutes' walk from Gion-Shijo station, the shop is found in front of Yasaka-jinja shrine and is marked by its red lanterns and wooden pickle barrels. They offer a chazuke dish with 11 kinds of seasonal pickles, including soy sauce-preserved burdock root, cucumber tsuntsunzuke with wasabi and soy sauce, and more. These pickled vegetables are an excellent, healthy source of fiber, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients that are often lacking in modern diets. The gentle, warm chazuke is also an excellent way to refresh your tired body. They also have rice with whitebait, whitebait chazuke, and eel chazuke.
