This patisserie was founded in 1935. The name is a combination of the French and Norwegian words for brown, and is meant to evoke the image of chocolate. They focus on cakes and baked treats made with their own chocolate produced from strictly selected ingredients. Their primary product is the Uji Matcha Truffle Chocolate. They mix highest quality Uji matcha with chocolate cream covered in Belgian chocolate for a truly luxurious truffle. Their Kuromitsu Matcha Truffle Chocolate uses kuromitsu black syrup from venerable sweet maker Gion Koishi, and it won the Mond Selection gold medal in 2015.
