An organization that handles sightseeing inquiries in the Kyoto and Ohara area including the Sanzen-in Temple and Jakko-in Temple. You can also try wearing the traditional Oharame clothing that women from Ohara wear while working. Oharame was the name for the local women who would travel to Kyoto balancing firewood atop their head to peddle in the city. The design is said to originate from a Heian Period outfit. Children's sizes are available allowing parents and children to experience this dress up opportunity together. Some shops offer discounts to tourists dressed in the Oharame outfit and so it's a frequent site to see women strolling around town dressed like this.
