"A day-trip hot spring bathhouse located next to Amanohashidate Station. The springs were named in hopes that bathers would be awarded the wisdom and health of the Monju Bosatsu enshrined at Chion-ji Temple, one of the three Japanese famous Monju, famous for the proverb ""Monju no chie,"" meaning ""Two heads are better than one."" Baths include an outdoor bath as well as hand and foot baths allowing you to enjoy the Amanohashidate Spring, known for its healthy skin benefits."

こじんまりとした静かな温泉

夕方に訪れたけど、あまり人がおらず気兼ねなくゆっくりと温泉に浸かることができた。湯船自体はそんなに大きくなく、5〜6人が入れる程度で洗い場も7〜8個ぐらい設置されている。露天風呂として壺湯が2つと別小屋に手湯足湯がある。小屋の中とはいえ素っ裸で手湯足湯は冬場は寒かろうと思うが、内湯で温まった後なら大丈夫なのだろうか。

知恵の湯は天橋立駅の知恵の輪を過ぎたところにある温泉です。湯舟が大きくはないのでせいぜい5-6人くらいが丁度よい人数でしょう。入浴料700円。フェースタオル200円。塩分を含んだ温泉のため体の油分がとられます。敏感肌の方はハンドクリームなどを持参した方が良いかもしれません。温泉の温度は丁度良い40-41度くらいと推察しました。寒い冬にはもってこいの場所かと思います。

天橋立駅右手にある小さな温泉。浴槽には知恵の輪がありました。徒歩と自転車で観光をした後に寄ったので、疲れをいやし汗を流すのに最適でした。
