Mirokuji Temple

Temple
A temple in UwanumaMirokujiTerayama, Nakada Town, Tome City. The temple started as a small thatched hut established by pilgrims in the 7th century. The principal object of worship is a seated statue of the Miroku Buddha which is only unveiled to the public once every 33 years. An annual festival called the O-Miroku-san Night Festival is held on August 15th and 16th and draws large crowds every year.
