Sotoono Shidare-zakura Cherry Blossom Tree

Place famous for cherry blossoms
A 300-plus year-old weeping cherry tree in Sotoono, Daigo City, Kuji County. It's said the tree was hand-planted by Tokugawa Mitsukuni, the second lord of the Mito domain. It has been designated as a Prefectural Natural Monument. The Sotoono Shidarezakura Festival is held when the tree is in bloom, along with a variety of events.
