One of the hot springs at Dogo Onsen, it plays the role of distributing spring water drawn from each source to nearby hot spring bathhouses, hotels, and ryokan style inns. Inside there's a handwashing station allowing you to feel the spring water from the source first hand as well as a viewing room where you can observe the spring water as it falls into the hot water tanks.

道後温泉駅のすぐ裏にあるのに、観光客はほとんど見かけない。ここは、各旅館へ温泉を分配するための施設。地下からくみ上げたばかりのお湯を手湯として楽しめる。

道後温泉では現在、源泉18本から20-55度の湯が4カ所の分湯場に集められ、3つの外湯と旅館に配湯されている。道後温泉駅の北西、稲荷神社の境内は第4分湯場があります。簡易的な手湯施設が設置されている。

ここに集まった源泉が、道後温泉本館や椿の湯をはじめ各旅館・ホテルへ送られています。見学室では、複数の源泉が貯湯槽に勢いよく落ちる様子を見ることができます。温度計は約50度を示しておりやや熱めでした。午後8時まで無料で見学できて手湯も楽しめます。
