Otsujiga Falls
A waterfall along Abukuma River in Takishita, Maedagawa, Sukagawa City. The name comes from the falls drawing the shape of the Otsu kanji character. As the water level increases the width of the falls increase to around 100 meters, leading to its nickname of Little Niagara. When the poet Matsuo Basho visited, he wrote a verse, 'Oh what a sight! With the early summer rains the falls overflow.' On the banks is the Otsujigataki Archaeological Site, the oldest such in the city.
