Johanabetsuin Zentokuji Temple

A temple in Johana, Nanto. It was founded in 1471 by Rennyo Shonin, the eighth head priest of Hongan-ji Temple. The main hall which is reconstructed in 1759, the main gate, and the bell tower have all been designated Cultural Properties of Toyama Prefecture. During the Mushiboshi Buddhist Service which starts on July 22, a portion of their treasured items from their collection which numbers over ten thousand items is put out on public display for a week.

城端曳山会館近くにある寺院。井波の瑞泉寺と同じく、真宗大谷派別院です。立派な山門、本堂、太鼓楼や鐘楼も歴史を感じさせます。

高瀬神社に参拝した後に立ち寄りました。７００年ほど前に創建された浄土真宗の有力な寺院です。まずは、江戸後期に建てられた非常に立派な山門が目を引きます。彫刻もとても素晴らしいです。江戸中期の本堂は富山県内でも有数の規模を誇る立派な建物です。それほど大きくはないですが太鼓楼は４００年ほど前に建てられたものです。浄土真宗の別院らしく非常に立派な寺院ですが、山門に不釣り合いな支柱が設置されているように建物...

蓮如上人が１４７１年に加賀で開山し、１５５９年に)に城端へ移転した浄土真宗大谷派の寺院です。本尊の阿弥陀如来は行基の作と伝えられています。本堂前に城端むぎや祭のステージが組まれ、既に客席も準備されており、優美な彫刻が施された山門だけを見学して本堂への参拝を遠慮しました。
