This museum is in Uchihisumii, Kahoku City. This museum of philosophy displays materials pertaining to the local philosopher Nishida Kitaro. It is the only museum of philosophy in Japan. This museum, built around the theme of 'to think' by the architect Ando Tadao, is equipped with a 300 seat auditorium, seminar rooms, an observation lounge, a library housing books on philosophy, and a cafe.

かほく市出身の哲学者西田幾多郎を顕彰し、哲学の普及・啓発を図るために造られた文化施設です。展示室は三つに分かれ、「哲学へのいざない」、「西田幾多郎の世界」、「西田幾多郎の書」となっています。考えることがテーマのようで瞑想の空間「ホワイエ」もあります。また、展望ラウンジからは日本海、河北潟、そして遠方には白山連峰を展望できます
