Shidoko Banyan Park

This botanical garden is located in Yakushima Town, Kumage County, Kagoshima Prefecture. Visitors to the garden can appreciate the grove of gigantic Banyan trees that are representative of subtropical regions and are said to be over 500 years old. In addition to the luxuriant grove of Banyan trees, there are also other subtropical trees that grow densely here, such as Machilus thunbergii and Japanese Sea Fig.
