This museum is in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, and was built in 1995 to commemorate the 145th anniversary of the founding of Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, as Tashiro Baiyaku. This museum is dedicated to pharmaceutical and medical history, and stands out for its two story building, designed by an Italian sculptor. Its displays include a recreation of the end of the 19th century British pharmacy, and materials from Tashiro Baiyaku.

小規模ですが、展示の工夫がいいです！

JAFカードで入場料が１００円割引になります。外観もいいですが、館内展示も工夫されています。薬草園はイマイチでしたが、敷地自体は整備されていて気持ちがいいです。江戸時代の薬問屋が再現されていたり、薬ができる過程が実際に使われていた道具とともに説明されていたので、時代小説好きの私には小説の世界が理解できてとても面白かったです！昔の薬のラベルの展示では、そのデザインがお洒落で目をひきました。

花やしきで食事した後、すぐ向かいにあったので寄ってみました。入場料は大人300円。配置薬の歴史や、薬の原材料、今昔の薬など、薬にまつわる色々な物が展示されていて、とても興味深かったです。

名前だけは知っていましたが、来たのは初めてでした。プレミアムアウトレットから車なら5分程度です。距離は近いですが、車がないと来るのが難しそうな印象でした。駐車場はじゅうぶんあります。有料で内部は一部を除いて写真撮影不可でした。ちょっと写真をとってみたいような展示はありましたが、残念です。肥前佐賀博覧会の関係でクイズのようなものをやていてクリアファイルをいただきました。
