Ushioe Tenmangu Shrine
This shrine is in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture. Legends say it was founded in 905, and its primary deities are Sugawara-no-Michizane, his eldest son Takami, and his wife. Since it's in the heart of Kochi City, it is the busiest shrine in the city around New Year's day with visitors coming for Hatsumode, the first prayer of the year. Its Romon tower gate is a designated Kochi City Cultural Asset, and the grounds hold a bull statue that is deeply connected to Michizane.
