Shiroyama Park
This park is located on the former site of Takahama Castle, which was built during the Muromachi Period. It features a large grassy square where visitors can view the cherry blossoms in the spring. There is also a promenade leading to an observation deck from which visitors can enjoy views of Meikyodo Cave, a natural cave and one of Takahama Town's places of scenic beauty, as well as Yana no Kisho eight rare scenic beauty, Wakasa Bay, and beyond. The sunset seen from the ruins of Shiroyama Castle has also been selected as one of Japan Sunset Best 100. The beautiful sight of the sun setting over Mt. Aoba is a must-see. Fishing on the seashore is one of the many different ways to enjoy the park.
