50 minutes from the Usui-Karuizawa Interchange on the Joshin-etsu Expressway via National Route 18/National Route 146. At this roadside rest stop, located at the entrance to the vast Asama Farm sprawling 1,300 meters above sea level, visitors can get a bite to eat and enjoy picking out souvenirs and gifts. The rest stop's roast beef donburi rice bowl, featured on television, is limited to just a few customers a day and consists of homemade roast beef served over rice with a side salad of alpine vegetables, an exquisite flavor combination. The facility also offers candle making and other classes and has a petting zoo with goats and sheep. During the Golden Week and summer holidays, kids can also go on horseback rides.

ソフトクリームで一休み

小動物が少し居たりして、ちょっと休憩に一休みしながらソフトクリームを食べました。食事も食べれる様でした。
アイスクリームは美味しいですよ

９月初旬の日曜昼過ぎ、友人達と軽井沢へ遊びに行き寄りました。駐車場はほぼ満車状態、たまたま目の前の車が１台出たところに入り込みました。食事は横川ＳＡで済ませて来たのでアイスクリームを食べました。あまり愛想のない年配の男性が販売していましたが、美味しいアイスでリフレッシュすることができました。レストランの横では山羊やうさぎを飼っており、子供連れの家族が触れ合いを楽しんでいました。
昔と変わらずの雰囲気がある所

昭和のちょっと小洒落たドライブイン的なお店。どことなく昔あったな的な建物と過剰な照明がない店内が懐かしい感じがする。ソフトクリームを食べながら、店の隣にいるうさぎ、ヤギ、羊とふれあうこともできる。（餌やり）また茶屋周辺を犬と一緒に気持ちよく散歩休憩できるのがいい。
