Mancho Plum Grove

Place famous for plum blossoms
A Japanese plum grove park located a 10-minute drive from the Onomichi Interchange on the Sanyo Expressway. Some 1,000 plum trees grow in the park and during the blooming season it bustles with visitors come to see their flowers. Actually a plum tree orchard, most of the trees are white blossom flowering Nanko plums. During the peak blooming period, usually early March, the Mancho Plum Blossom Viewing Festival is held, and light meals and foods made with Japanese plums are available for sale. Pets are allowed in the park as long as they are leashed. Around early June, visitors can also go plum picking here and, with an advance reservation, do activities such as jam making and making candied plum extract.
