A 20 minute drive from the Shiroishi interchange on the Tohoku Expressway heading towards Zao. This is one of two public bathhouses in the Togatta Onsen hot spring district known since ancient times as a destination for religious mountain climbing and therapeutic bathing. The bathhouse' men's and women's bathing areas, enshrouded in the fragrance of cypress from Aomori, both have a very hot and a lukewarm bath. The bathhouse also has a free footbath outdoors. The waters of the bathhouse' sodium calcium-sulfate chloride springs are soft and said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, rheumatism, and women's diseases.

遠刈田温泉の共同浴場

遠刈田温泉の共同浴場。隣あたりに駐車場もあります。かなり大きな施設で、入浴料は400円。たくさんの人がこられていました。ぬるゆとあつゆがあり、熱湯は45度くらいですが、入ってしまえば、熱さを感じません。析出物も多く、パワーを感じる温泉です。14時までに退出が必要です。

遠刈田のシンボル。共同浴場です。皆さんの言う通り、めちゃくちゃ熱いです！草津よりも熱いのでは？と思いました。共同浴場裏の山には温泉神社もあるので、登ってみてからここで汗を流すのも良いです。
ぬるい湯でも熱い

立派過ぎる外観の共同浴場です。外には足湯があってそのだけわりと賑わっています。温泉はぬるい方でもかなり熱めですが、いい湯です。
