A long-standing Japanese confectionary shop facing the Nakasendo Road 4.3 kilometers from the Nakatsugawa interchange on the Chuo Expressway. Nakatsugawa is believed to be the birthplace of kuri kinton mashed sweet potatoes and candied chestnuts and each year in September Japanese confectionary shop across the city sell kuri kinton, the flavor of which differs from shop to shop. Suya's kuri kinton is made with choice chestnuts and sugar and has an unaffected, simple flavor. The shop's kuri kinton is only available when in season, but customers can purchase the similarly flavored kuri kinton yokan jelly throughout the year. From late November to August, the shop also sells buckwheat flour confections like soba man buns.
