A rest house located a 20-minute walk from Hiraizumi Station on the JR Tohoku Main Line. Situated not farm from the World Heritage Chuson-ji Temple, in 2018 the rest house was selected as number four on a list of Japan's 100 best sightseeing and restaurant facilities as chosen by professionals. In Restaurant Gen, you can take in a view of the Tsukimizaka, the approach to Chuson-ji Temple, and enjoy choice dishes made with local Iwate ingredients. In Food Court Mon, you can eat local dishes like Hiraizumi's famous Benkei chikaramochi rice cakes at reasonable prices. There's also a gift shop which carries a wide variety of local products and souvenirs.

駐車場無料です。何も買ったり飲食しないといけない事は有りませんが、そこは常識として。食堂で冷麺を頂きました。韓国冷麺で、麺はしこしこしていて、胡瓜や大根のキムチ、そこにお好みで辛味噌をかけて食べました。ずんだ餅も美味しかったです。

中尊寺の入口、道路をはさんで東側にあるレストラン、土産物店です。レストランは2階建てで1階部分は、自販機で食券を購入するタイプです。気軽に昼食をとるには1階がお薦めです。「義経そば」を食べました。
