Oboke Gorge

Valley
"Located approximately 35 minutes from the Otoyo Interchange on the Kochi Expressway or the Ikawa-Ikeda Interchange on the Tokushima Expressway, this V-shaped valley was formed by rapid erosion of the rocks in the upper reaches of the Yoshino River. It is a scenic spot with exposed rock formations on both sides of the river, and is designated as a natural monument in Tokushima Prefecture. You can enjoy the magnificent scenery created over 200 million years by listening to explanations from boatmen going downstream on sightseeing boats year-round. In the spring, you can see light purple ""rock azaleas"" and other flowers that grow between the white rocks, and the fresh greenery and autumn leaves are also beautiful."
