Toga Shrine Okumiya

Shrine
Located a 50-minute drive from Nagayama Station and a two-hour hike from Kami-Nagayama Trailhead, Toga Jinja Shrine is an inner shrine near the summit. On a clear day, Mt. Fuji is visible from the yohaisho worshipping place on the grounds. The deity of the shrine is Onamuchi-no-Mikoto, and since he can be revered anywhere in the Higashi Mikawa Plain, visitors demonstrate their extreme reverence for this god by coming here not only by car but also on foot. They can see the sacred cedar tree more than 1000 years old and Kunimi Rock, and in the spring, they can enjoy cherry and lotus blossoms. The shrine's annual festival is February 6th, and the fall festival is held on the last Sunday in October.
