Daishizan Seidaiji Temple (Echizen Great Buddha)

Temple
"Daishiyama Seidaiji Temple, completed in 1987, is located about a 10-minute drive from the Katsuyama Interchange on the Chubu-Jukan Expressway. Kiyoshi Tada, founder of the Sogo Taxi Company, built it as the culmination of a long-held wish. The most striking feature is a 17-meter statue of Biroshana Nyorai (Vairocana) in the main building. The statue is commonly referred to as ""the Great Buddha of Echizen."" There are numerous additional images for visitors to venerate: standing statues of bodhisattvas and arhats and seated Buddhist images crowded along the walls. Furthermore, visitors can go to the top of the five-story pagoda and see a splendid view of the surrounding countryside."
