Sorinji Temple

Founded in 760 as Iozan Kofukuji Temple, it was destroyed repeatedly by fire, with only the Yakushido Hall surviving. It was rebuilt and renamed in 1591. Its principal object of worship is a wooden image of the Yakushi Nyorai, which has been designated an Important Cultural Property. An enormous cedar tree on the grounds is said to be about 1,200 years old and is a Prefectural Natural Monument.

築館の旧国道４号線沿いの小高い山の上にあります。曹洞宗のお寺で、本尊は薬師如来です。市民からは「お薬師様」とか参道の杉と合わせ、「杉薬師様」と親しまれています。
高台にありとても見晴らしの良いお寺

旧・奥州街道をランニングで旅した際に通りかかりました。小高い丘の上にありとても見晴らしの良い場所にあるお寺です。境内はとても広く、よく手入れがされていて気持ちよい空間でした。

桜がとても綺麗です。公園には休憩所もありますので、ゆっくり自然を感じることができます。散歩するのもちょうどいい感じです。
