This historic cafe has preserved its history and heritage in Shinjuku for over 50 years, since its founding in 1964 as a 'quintessential cafe'. Their coffee beans are discriminatingly selected from around the world, roasted, and milled right before flannel-dripping the grounds into a rich brewed cup of coffee. In addition to the standard original blend, if unusual beans come in, they are offered as the roast of the month. Tajimaya Coffee also serves light meals and sweets. Open until 23:00, it is an ideal night cafe spot.

歴史を感じさせる建物。店内にいると、大都会新宿にいることを忘れてしまいます。古めかしい木造りで、民芸調とも言えますが、モダンな雰囲気があります。モダンというより、知的な雰囲気かもしれません。森の中に建つ別荘にでもいるような気分です。コーヒーのお値段はちょっとお高いのですが、アイリッシュコーヒーがあったのがうれしかったです。ただ残念だったのが、店内で喫煙ができること。幸いにも、私たちの近くでは喫...
