The eatery serves the local favorite known as dago dumpling soup, and their Mokuyu-kan has workshops in woodcraft and making stone oven-baked pizzas. 道の駅鹿北小栗郷は、熊本県と福岡県の県境近くにある小栗峠のふもとにありました。山の中の道の駅ですが、物産館とレストランがあり、「木工館」という体験施設もある、充実した施設を持つ道の駅でした。物産館では、季節の農産品が数多く並んでいるほか、店頭にはたくさんの鉢植えのお花も並んでいました。
